1903 Colt Front sight
Any body have a good source for Colt 1903 Pocket Automatic parts? I just got a nickle plated one in 32 ACP but it's missing the front sight. I tried Numrich and though they list the part, it is currently sold out.
Thanks in advance.

I think that may be difficult.
The original Colt factory instruction/parts sheet shows the front sight as part of the slide, while the rear sight is shown as a replaceable part. That makes me think that the front sight was never available as a part.
Your best bet may be to try to find a complete slide on GB auctions, or pay a local gunsmith to fabricate a new sight for you & weld it on.

I wonder how a shotgun bead sight might work? 0 -
I had a blue steel one with the same problem, I had a gunsmith make one. I think he made it out of the head of a nail. He just ground away all but the little "fingernail" of a sight and a tenon to go into the slide and be staked. He smoothed it down and touch blued it before installation. It worked fine for the little I shot it before I sold it. 0 -
I also have one that was missing both sights. Gunsmith fabricated front from another, don't remember what. Said it was peened on inside to hold in place. 0 -
A trick: fab your replacement front blade from a coin.
If serrations are desired, use a US dime/quarter. If not use a penny/nickel. Chuck it up in a 4-jaw, hacksaw off to OA height plus whatever length is needed for a 'teat' to soft solder into the slide's sight hole.
I learned this from an ol' Latino buddy whom had a dusty ol' cigar box 1/2 full of many times-trimmed Mexican (old) pesos. Said they were great for leverguns.
Getting a finish to stick on it will be a challenge.0
