Was the 54 drilled for a scope at any time? 0 -
set up for a suppressor. 0 -
Sounds interesting. Can you post up some pics of it?
ADDED: You have a very interesting rifle. I'm not that knowledgeable about the Model 54's. Hopefully, someone here will help you with the information that you would like to have, or direct you to a person that can help.0 -
Being made in 1929 it was before congress passed the National Firearms Act in 1934. Prior to that, having a blast suppressor was considered a convenience, sine then they have been Gangster weapons, just like the H&R HandyGun. 0 -
Perhaps a false muzzle screwed on for loading bullets down the bore as opposed to a breach seater. If you search this forum there are pic's of the period correct Maxim silencers threads and cap. 0 -

sorry about the size of the first pic, just figured out how to upload images. Any idea on the value? thanks. 0 -
Value? Assuming good bore and in working condition, I'd guess, in my neck of the woods anyway, it would likely bring $300 to $400.
A good shooter, but from outward appearances and barrel threading, not something that collectors would flock to.0
