What model and revision is this S&W?

Greetings all from the West Indies.
My friend obtained and sent pictures of this here revolver for my opinion. The serial number is 284XXX.
Apparently it's a J-frame. I find it odd the serial number carries no letter prefix, as most S&W revolvers usually do. Moreover, the frame is marked "10D-36" underneath the yoke.
What is it? Is it a Model 10, or is it a Model 36?
What is the date of manufacture?
How much would it fetch on the market
Thanks all in advance. Blessings in 2015 to you and family.

Yes, after you pointed that out I can see it.0 -
Yes, a model 36 for sure. The finish has seen better days, lots of hairline scratches. The grips are not well fit to the gun. Value probably a couple hundred bucks. 0 -
Lefty, tell me where to get some of those $200 hairline scratched flatlatch 3" Chiefs. 0 -

If you think it's a five shot model 10D, I have a lake in the Sahara desert for sale cheap for you [:0]
It is a nickel 36 like I said. The crane number is for factory only, except the "36" that "is" the model number [:0]0
