S&W model 940 .356 TSW
I have a S&W model 940 in .356 TSW caliber. The serial number is PCZ0104 It is not a Performance Center gun as the serial number range for those is APC0001-APC0300. The barrel has a larger 356TSW script than the PC pistols. The GunBroker auction number I had it listed under was 458767848. Any help on identifying this gun would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like that is all there is [^]0 -
From your serial number, it appears you have quite a unique S & W revolver. Since it's not in the SCSW. I looked, and could only find the Lew Horton guns.
I would call S & W customer service. Get the contact information, for the current S & W historian. Contact them, and arrange to get a factory letter. With all pertinent information, specially number produced. From my perspective, it appears you have a very desirable Smith revolver. That collectors aren't even aware of.0 -
just a ???....could that gun shoot 9x23win ?? 0 -
I don't know about 9x23 but I've shot .356 in it. Thank you rufe-snow for your advice. If anybody knows it's Roy Jinks. 0 -
I think a factory letter may be a little premature.
According to SCSW 3rd edition, there were several engineering changes & product codes for the M940. If you could give us the dash number & product code, we may be able to figure this out. Better yet, how about a photo of the box end label?
