Hello a friend recently called me and asked the value and maybe a date of birth on this gun. Perhaps someone here can help. Thanks.

  As I recall the letter L stood for the Safari grade FN action rifle and during that time the number before it stood for the year of the 60s decade, so it would have been 1963. As far as value goes, you'd have to check with those that buy/sell or look up some closed auctions, but whatever the price, that is a very highly regarded rifle.
