A lot of butt stocks were cut off to keep the length of pull the same when the thicker pad was installed.

Are you set on installing a Remington logo'd buttplate, or just any generic.
Generic buttplates can be ground to fit. If the buttstock itself hasn't been excessively molested (cut for the pad) a small amount of grinding to fit shouldn't affect the appearance of a factory plate.

When you find, and order, a buttplate make sure you get the correct type screws for it. The angle of the screw head needs to fit the angle of the countersink in the buttplate.

    Hello Jim
Thanks for the feedback on the butt plate. You said you have them to sell. If you still do could you please send me more information on what you have and how much you would like for one. Also do you have the correct screws for the butt plate?
    Thanks,
    Gary
