Rem 700 serial # help

Have a 700 BDL varmint with serial # 6833841 and can't seem to find a DOM. There is no letter prefix. Thanks.

  From the sticky above. It's a code on the barrel.

  As noted, Remington dated their guns by stamping code letters on the barrel, however with the GCA'68 they needed to have specific serial numbers for each gun & so the gun companies started adding letters,etc to the numbers. Since yours is numbers only I'd guess it was from about 1967 but the number is nearly seven million, so it's quite possible that Remington didn't start letters until later.
