Try FRANKONIA or EDUARD KETTNER both GERMAN sporting goods AND firearms
EDIT I have read the other post If your rifle came with factory sling mounts than it will be for a NARROW sling where it mounts to the front and back Of the gun all of mine Valmet Flaig Beretta ETC
take these EUROPEAN models have sling mounts about .870 wide. . Look at catalog from two shops above they have slings like the one mentioned on page 52.0 -
Answer: I don't think anyone has what you're looking for.
I just got off the telephone with "Herbert" a nice gentleman with a Germanic accent who works at Merkel USA in Alabama.
He told me that he has never seen a Merkel labelled rifle sling, he doesn't import or stock then, he doesn't believe Merkel manufactures these, and he doesn't think they exist.
He added that its possible they've had some limited run or runs of slings made by a third party with the Merkel name on it in the past, but he's personally never seen one.
He did suggest that there are German made rifle slings available that you could get, just not Merkel.
So, no, I don't think you're going to find this.
For $35, you can buy this and then slap it on someone else's leather sling: http://www.jeffsoutfitters.com/LAB1127_Merkel-leather.aspx?productid=591&categoryid=124
For $200, you can buy this German made BLAZER rifle sling:

pwillie,
I discussed this at length with a friend who is a huge Merkel collector and he says that they never had one such as you are asking about.
However, you could buy any of several nice leather slings and then add the leather patch above to create the first custom made Merkel sling. Who knows? It could be a new business venture...

babun,
I guess it comes down to semantics.
Merkel probably doesn't make this sling since it is not private labeled for them. I could be wrong but the Poster seemed to be asking about a 'Merkel' sling, in essence one that was labeled Merkel. So the reality is any sling could be appropriate given that it is not labeled.

Agreed. That "Merkel" leather patch offered by others seems to be the "add-on" to make the sling seem like it was made by them.[;)][;)][;)] 0 -

Best.
I agree. Again, Merkel's US representative told me the company does not make slings (period).
Begging the question of why anyone really needs a "Merkel" sling (eg I don't have nor want/need a "Remington" sling, a "Marlin" sling, a "Ruger" sling, a "Mauser" sling, etc), the sling listed in the Merkel catalog is clearly made by a third party.
It also, by the way, doesn't have a catalog number, a parts number, nor is it listed on the Merkel website. . .despite being listed in the catalog, I'd say its possible that Merkel doesn't actually sell these at all.
Assuming it does, whether or not its is a "Merkel" sling is debatable. They do list it in their catalog; so its probably the closest thing there is to one. Maybe its more appropriate to call it a "Merkel endorsed sling".
But more to the point, according to Merkel's only USA importer, they don't import these slings! So even if this is a (the?) "Merkel" sling, you can't buy one, short of calling Merkel directly and importing it from Europe!
Maybe the same exact sling is imported into the USA under a different name, but not knowing the manufacturer or make, I don't know how you could tell. If you wanted to call Merkel in Germany, ask them who manufactures their slings, and then see if you can get one via a US distributor, importer. . .that's on you. My German isn't up to this. [;)]. .(though they may well have a customer service rep who speaks English).
Assuming they have any, I'm sure Merkel would be happy to sell you a sling, and hey, the dollar is pretty strong right now. Maybe it won't cost as much as a domestic American rifle [}:)].
Edit: If the issue is just getting a proper European style sling, that's not too hard. The Blazer sling I listed above has European style swivels. If you don't want to pay $200 for one, there is a cheaper partly synthetic version for "only" $107 from the same dealer!
In general, slings that can accept the Euro swivels aren't too hard to get. This company has a nice selection of leather ones:
http://www.levysleathers.com/browse;cat,845;European-Size-Rifle-Slings
The company that has the "Merkel" leather patch has slings too:
http://www.jeffsoutfitters.com/SLING1010_European_Rifle_Shotgun_Sling-1__or_3_4_.aspx?productid=58
And of course any custom maker can make you a sling for these pretty easily. Swivels themselves can be found here:
