sound like a great find . My first new 1911 type pistol was a 1971 Series 70 Gold Cup. List price $190.00 I still have it about 500 rounds through it with box ETC Value of one you are looking at [?][?][?][?]In my opinionyou can't get a Factory Colt thay has better quality of material sights and fit & finish

To the right buyer $2000.00 and up IMHO, I bet if, Locust Fork, one of G/B's premiere sellers on the auction side had it for sale it could do a lot more!

I remember a gun dealer who was mad at Colt offering me up to a dozen Gold Cup National Match pistols for $150 each. That was in 1968 and I didn't have the money. He sent the whole case of 12 back to Colt.

I don't recall if Colt was shipping guns in a plastic bag at that time, but ........ you may want to tell him not to keep the gun in the box unprotected. Most cardboard boxes are made of high acid materials that will ruin the finish of a gun if directly touching the box. VPI paper works well.
