1885 32 40 1911
I know Bert is out of touch for a while so maybe somebody can help me out. I have purchased a 1885 32 40 made in 1911 and would like to know what ammo I should use in it. I know these old 85's can handle a lot but I do not know if I can use modern ammo in it

I use cast bullet handloads in that exact rifle.
That said, a high wall should handle any proper 32-40 loading.0 -
I just arrived in Reno and settled into my hotel. Almost 13-hours on the road, and 769 more miles on the odometer.
A 1911 vintage high-wall will handle any properly loaded 32-40, black powder or smokeless.0 -
Slug your bore. I have had good luck with Lyman 323470. 0 -
I would think that any of the cowboy loads would work just fine, and would be safe to use! 0
