winchester model 24 problem
have a winchester model 24 12ga, when working the action it cocks and seems like everything is fine, but when you fire the gun and then go to open it up the action like freezes up, if really, and i mean really put force on it it will open up partially and then have to put a lot of force to close it again, if take the forearm off and put it back on, it works fine untill you fire it again, then it freezes up again, have another 24 and have compared them both and everything looks the same,
any ideas of whats wrong, thanks

Look at gunparts inc. and bring up the parts diagram for your Model 24 see if it has a firing RETURN SPRING. If so this may be the spring is broken or so much GUNK in the action things can move like they should and are binding. I think you need a Compleat tear down and clean & oil all internal parts 0 -
i agree with perry shooter. had a model 24 that did same thing an after it was taken apart an years of dirt removed it worked fine. 0
