concealed compact carry 9mm

I had a Beretta 9000, liked it quite a bit. It's a fairly wide pistol though, uses a double stack magazine. Very reliable and the DA pull was very even. FWIW, the Springfield XS with 3.3" barrel has a thinner grip than my Sig P938 and is very controllable.

the reason I picked these were their size and like 10 rounds or better the single stacks are 6 or 7 rounds

I like the S&W's, however I have opted for a single stack. Two of them actually. I have both of the Shields in 9mm, and 40. While I do have big hands, and can shoot a double stack well, I do better with a single stack, and it feels much more comfy.

If you can shoot it better, your hit probability will be greater, decreasing the need for higher capacity. Another plus, is they are slimmer, and more concealable.

6-7 rounds on you is quite a bit better than 10 rounds in the gun you leave at home, because the gun in question is too fat to fit into your pocket comfortably and you're unable or unwilling to go with a belt-holster.

IMO, there is nothing intrinsically wrong with subcompact double-stack guns, but these are typically sort of fat, roughly the same as the full sized service guns they're based on. I think in many cases, if you are able to carry one, you may be able to get away with carrying a compact or even full sized gun (so you might as well).

Subcompacts make a little more sense as backups to full sized guns, because they share platform similarity and magazines.

FWIW, single stack Beretta Nano, Sig P290, Smith M&P9 Shield all have 8 round mags available, potentially bringing you to 8+1 capacity. Its not 10+1, but its not too far off.

I personally carry a SCCY 9mm, 15 oz empty, 10 round mag, and small!

Not to highjack the thread but what model SCCY do you own 1 or 2 and what is your overall opinion of it?

Kahr PM9. If you can't finish it in 6 you probably won't finish with 11.

Wife and I both carry the Ruger SR9C. She carries it in her back pocket with long tailed shirts. Iwould perfer something a little smaller but I tried the LC9 and couldn't hit anything beyond 10ft. I'll stick with the SR9C for now.

I have the SCCY CPX-1 with a thumb safety. It took about 400-500 rounds to get it broken in, now it runs flawlessly! I tested it with 5 or 6 different ammos, and the only one that would jamb every now and then, like two to three rounds in a box of 50, was American Eagle ammo, I stay away from that.

I've shot Remington, Federal, Blazer brass, Perfecta, Hrdra shoks (my carry ammo), Herters, and Sig personal defense, and not had a problem with any of those!

If you have any other questions, let me know?
