Identify this 223 Rem magazine
I picked this up at a flea market. The guy I got it from didn't know what it was for. It measures 2 9/16" wide, 2 13/16" high, and 7/16" thick. The only markings is 223 REM in a rectangle. The button on the front pushes in, presumably to remove the mag from the gun. Sorry about the poor quality of the pictures. The blueing is real shiney & reflects so I can't get any better pics. Any help will be appreciated.

Remington 788.
I'm surprised it sold that cheap. I would have expected $50.0 -
Yes, and very desirable-salable to those of us with the rifle. 0 -
Thanks! I have listed it on the auction side. 0 -
Agree it is a Remington 788 and $25 is more than a fair price. 0 -
FWIW the factory magazines, which this one is, are much better made than the aftermarket versions out there. Definitely a step up from the aftermarket versions. 0 -
Thanks again for the info! It sold on the auction side for $30.36! 0 -

Gunswapper,
Just a hint for future gun pictures. To avoid that reflective shine, don't be opposite the light source when you shoot the picture. Position yourself and the camera closer to the direction from which the light is shining on the object. That way the reflection is away from the camera instead of towards it. [:)]0
