Outer's foul out
Do any of you members use the Outer's foul out system? ( plug the barrel, pour in the chemical insert the metal rod and hook up the low voltage wire).A member of our club has offered me a new never opened one for a real low price.Any benefit over the traditional way of cleaning my rifles for the last 45 years? I don't know if they still make it or not.If they don't that may be my answer. Thanks

I've used it and it works very well. a lot less 'scrubbing' that other methods. 0 -
Don't quote me, but I believe they've quit making them.
Not to despair though. I made my first one using an A/C transformer from a dead Sony Walkman and a length of 1/8" stainless steel rod. Some O-rings, a rubber vacuum cap and a pair of alligator clips went into it also.
You will find the formula for the solutions at this link.

The reason I went to the electro/chem method is my 264 Winchester Westerner. That rifle was nothing less than a chore to clean. Then I started using the original Barnes X bullets and it became a day long chore.
IIRC the reason for the changes from Foul Out to Foul Out II and III was hazardous chemical content.
At any rate, my DIY unit worked as well as the Foul Out II I was given and is still going strong.
One last. The solution will remove blue if you overfill the bore.0
