Need info on a Winchester Mdl 12 12 Ga.
I know very little about shotguns.
I had a friend give me a Winchester Model 12 12 Ga. pump shotgun.
It has a 30 inch barrel. Serial # 10722XX
Made in 1947???
Gold trigger, gold safety, gold pin at the end of the shell tube.
Has an aftermarket(?) Simmons Gun Specialties rail and a Pachmayer recoil pad.
Does it have any special name other then the basic Model 12 & what is it going for these days. I will mention that the bluing on it is still top notch...99% and there is no scratching present on the stock to speak of.
I tried to find a comparable item on the GunBroker lists that are for sale, but I couldn't find anything with the gold plated doo-dad extras.
Thanx,
Tim

Sounds like some old trapshooters customized model 12. Probably dear to him, but not original, and not dear to collectors. Odds are you won't find an exact match. Probably worth $300 to $800 bucks. Sorry! 0 -
Not a problem.
Thank you.0 -
Anyone else care to agree or disagree?? 0 -
As stated a shooter, but a well built one,,99% brings in the reblue, which I suspect. 300-400- 0 -
"Anyone else care to agree or disagree??"........the simmons rib means the gun was re-blued it might be in top shape but there is no collector interest any more. I've seen these SELL at gun shows for <$500 0 -
Sounds like an old model 12 that someone added some color too. It would not add any value to the gun. With a 30" barrel it's probably a full choke and that, IMO will also detract from its value. IMO it's a $300-$350 gun. 0 -
Thanx very much to everyone for the reconfirmation of what it 'are'!!

I was being generous with the top end estimate. There is a slim chance that this shotgun has some special feature that could raise the price, such as Pigeon grade, engraving or special wood. SLIM chance. 0
