What do I have here? Left to me with a note "Belgian 1893-1914 one of the better "Liege" makers". Appears to be missing the trigger/hammer spring. Thanks

Not much to go on. Does it look like this?

Nowhere close but some of the stamps are close? This is a 5 shot. (a 44 mag. brass only fits the cylinder length wise but rattles around in it!). The bottom of the grip frame has a lanyard ring and on the frame under the grips has a stamped "2" and maybe an "O"? It has a "pull out/flop out" rod brass ejector that also appears to act as the cylinder pin? The barrel is just short of 2" and has "V" cut grooves. The right side btwn. the cylinder and the barrel has the Crown, R, Star and what appears to be an A with a G or L all in one?? The cylinder has similar markings, Star, the AL or AG stamp, Crown with oval and "E" and "LG". I realize photos would certainly help but I've tried this and just can't get it?! Sorry. 0 -
most likely chambered for the 11 MM french Ordnance revolver or 476 Eley 0 -
From your description. It's most likely a Belgian made replica, of a British Bulldog revolver. Similar to the one in this photo off the net. The originals were made by Webley in England, circa 1870's on. They proved so popular, as personal protection guns. That many different Belgian manufacturers, started producing lower priced knock-offs. From your description of the proof marks, yours would date to probably the 1890's. Likely chambered, for the obsolete 44 Bull Dog cartridge.
Value wise, the original British Webley's are worth much more to a collector. Then one of the Belgian knock-offs.

Thanks for the input. It's in need of a main spring and also I believe a trigger return spring. Probably would have to have those made and probably just isn't worth the investment. Thanks again. 0
