I think that is a primer for an artillery cannon.

I met an old timer (86) getting out of reloading. I am going through his stuff with him and taking over a lot of his stuff. This primer was in a pile of brass.

Still got a ton of stuff to sort out. I was just being a good neighbor and friend and the next thing I know he's giving me a ton of reloading stuff !

I got rid of some bees in his roof overhang, cleaned up a mess on his garage and plan to work on his snow plow this week.
