How to adjust set trigger on T/C Renegade
The set trigger on my Renegade muzzleloader sets like it should but when I fire it with the front trigger, it stops on the half cock notch or there-abouts.
The gun does fire properly when I just use the front trigger.
Does anyone know the proper sequence to adjust the set trigger screw so it operates properly?
Many Thanks!

There's only one adjustment that I'm aware of.

Thank you, sir.
I tried what you forwarded and it didn't work.
I contacted T/C (S&W) and they sent me a prepaid label to send the trigger and lock in for repair.
Thank you for your time but I guess it's really broken. I have time before I planned to use the gun so it should be no worries.0 -
Same thing happened to me yrs ago with my Renegade.
I was messing around with both triggers some how
and the set trigger no longer worked. i must have broke something.
I called up T/c and they sent me a new side lock.
When they were in Rochester,NH they treated me real nice.
New ramrods,ferrules,wedges for nothing.
I also had a first generation contender and swapped
around for 3 or 4 barrels. Well they wouldn't lock up
or close at all.Seems some have to be fitted. Living
within driving distance ,I went to t/c and brought all my
barrels and the receiver. They fitted each barrel and gave the gun
an "easy open" job as the 1st generation contenders were a bit difficult. Cost: $0 They were the best.I now hear .no more good
customer service and freebees0 -
They were really nice today as well. I spoke with a man named Paul.
I asked if I could just send in the lock and trigger mechanisms to save shipping and the chance of loss or damage in transport. He said that would be fine and that he would send out a prepaid label via email.
I also asked about replacing a mag that was damaged when I had a case fail on a 17 Mach 2 R-55 model. When it happened, I contacted CCI and was told they won't stand behind 10 year old ammo but Thompson Center (S&W) told me they would pick up the gun to inspect it for damage and replace the mag if I included the damaged mag.
I told them the gun looked OK and have since examined if closely and fired it with another magazine and it seems like no worse for wear. Well today Paul told me to just send in the mag with the lock parts and he would replace it, so I don't think much has changed as far as customer service.
Most firearm related companies are terrific.
I was very disappointed with CCI's customer service though. I have lots of ammo that is over 10 years old, even some rimfire and their customer service guy on the phone seemed real concerned but their expert that emailed back blamed improper storage without even asking to inspect the ammo.
I would have thought they would replace the ammo as I had a whole 500 rd brick that showed tiny splits even before firing. (I didn't know this when I shot it but the CCI rep told me to look at it under a magnifying glass. He was right about the splits but claimed it could only happen from improper storage. Well it may have been stored improperly but that would have had to have been from the retailer because it wasn't purchased 10 years ago and I know the guy that had it stored and where he stored it since it was purchased. He traded it to me since he no longer has a rifle in that caliber. I was glad to get it and traded some 22LR ammo for it.
CCI basically told me tough luck and that I should just dispose of the ammo or take it back to the retailer. Most retailers have a no returns policy on ammo so I was the one that was out for about $70 worth of ammo. I won't be buying CCI brand ammo much any more.0
