REMINGTON 1917 ENFIELD

    Since the left side of model 1917 stocks were typically unmarked during manufacture, your stock markings were placed there when the rifle was at an arsenal inspection/rework facility (probably more than one!). Such markings usually consisted of arsenal initials plus the inspectors initials or trademark. The only mark I recognize from your description is Augusta Arsenal.
