1929 Colt commercial 1911 a1
I have a commercial Model 1911A1 Colt with a factory letter dating it to 1929. I was shipped to Auto Ordnance Mfg. My question is, do you all think it's destination adds to it's total worth? it;s in 98+% condition.

This pistol would have good value on it's own Merits if 98% . I suspect Auto Ordnance was looking at the feasibility of them getting a contract to build the new Modified colt 1911. After ColT had received a contract
June of 1923 to build Modified 1911 type pistols that would become the model 1911A1, In later years and ordered this pistol as a model to look at getting a contract them-self. I don't think this letter would add another 0 to the current value with out the letter. Now if you could get a letter stating they used this pistol as a tool room sample AT
Auto Ordnance, in making tooling to build pistols it might increase the value. We would all love to see some pictures of your pistol0 -
