Luger, sorta, info needed
WWII bring back. Pretty sure it is not highly collectable, but wonder just what it is. Toy? Holster makers dummy? I have seen similar, but with the orange plug, so much, much more recent. The 'D' shown behind the trigger guard is the only marking

Could be used as a size model to make holsters But barrel looks too short. 0 -
I don't know about yours? As you say it's a W W II bringback. But this company in CA, made cast aluminum Lugers as well as other guns. Time wise 40's/50's?. They were advertised in the back of magazines, and sold very inexpensively. Less than $5.00.
Don't want to date myself. But I remember the ads in the back of what we called Funny Books. These FB's were sold very inexpensively, in the local stores.

He Dog-- any info how arrived at WW-II bring back? I'd be skeptical, myself, without absolute proof.
As R-S's ad shows, these were replica toys. Had myself a solid aluminum, non-moving parts Colt SAA. This was circa late '50's/early '60's.
Also, a friends dad worked in MGM studios, and he said these and similar were used as mock-up firearms for the movie industry. Cheap way to arm an army of "extras" on the set while the "stars" were more issued more realistic blank-shooting arms.
Just my spin.

Agree, 50-60s era,,toy, I have a few of different copies like this 0 -
50s-60s toy may be correct, it was in a repaired commercial Luger holster of WWII era and presumed to be a bring back. It was owned by better half's father.
My father brought back a slightly more useful and much louder PP.0 -
Check this out, should answer your questions.
