Don't feel bad. I didn't figure it out, until I tried to prime some on a Lee hand priming tool. Good thing there were no children around. What I said, might have affected their little brains.
Federal decided to get in bed with Al Gore, to protect the environment. Lead free ecco friendly primers, are going to save us all from a early grave.0 -
Federal, and (I think) Blazer make some cases with small pockets.
I bought some once fired brass, found @ 5% with SPP. I use the same powder and loads, seem to shoot about the same. Just a PITA to keep them separate.
I use the SP reloads when shooting somewhere I have difficulty retrieving brass... if I lose them, makes life simpler.0 -
Check some of the reloading forums and there are guys that will buy them if you've got enough to make shipping worthwhile and it sounds like you do. They use specifically small primers for some unknown reason. I understand the large and small primers both shoot the same and with the same loads. When I run across one it goes in the scrap brass bag to go to the junk dealer. Like was mentioned, it's a PITA!

If I am shooting in a Bulls-Eye match and someone else is trying to pick up my brass [V][:(!]. I seed my empty cases with some that have small primers Then when the Brass HAWK goes to reload My cases he picked up . He will have a surprise [}:)] 0 -
I don't run into many so I just toss them in the brass can. My Lyman 310 tool is set for LP. I think you could ream them out to take LP primers. 0
