HK 91 Stock Rivets
Does anyone know where to get HK 91 stock rivets and how to install them on a 91 buttstock? Numrich, HKPro and RbrtRG don't carry or are out of stock. I've got a used but like new 91 stock that matches perfectly in color & wear with a new made POF wide forend - but the thing has a broken rivet and that's causing the buttpad to not sit tight & flat.

Where do you get them? I don't have a clue.
To remove the rivets you might as well order new sets of bushings for because you'll quite likely destroy them during disassembly. Each rivet has two bushings, one on each side of the stock and these are press fit into place so you have to pry them out and they don't like to move. With the old hardware removed, you can attempt to press fit new rivets as an assembly by placing a bushing on the right side of the stock, a bushing on the left and then inserting the rivet from the left side. Once that is done, slide the stock into a vice with a block of wood covering the rivet and bushing on each side and squeeze.
This works maybe 70% of the time, so buy some extra parts (if you can find them) because you'll likely screw up a few rivets in the attempt.
By the way, how did the trigger group issue turn out?

Must be made from unobtanium. You could call ask HK (801) 987-3494 - HKParts.net
I think I would make threaded washers for the off side and turn a bolt head down to fit.0 -

One of the rivets was rusted in its middle, broke in two and can be slipped out without hurting the bushings. Since the buttpad clamps on to the rivets having one of them broken leaves it (buttpad) a bit loose. The buttpad's not going anywhere, but having that looseness irritates the heck out of me. I was hoping there was a sorce for the rivet and a tool that when whacked would roll over the edge and seat it.
Re the trigger group, a friend gave me a refurbished metal lower in trade for the poly one. All is well. [:)]0
