Pre-war Winchester 74 .22 short only??

What do you guy think about using .22 short high velocity ammo in a pre-war Win 74, shorts only that is in very good shape? I do not want to hurt this guns action, and it not like I'm going to shoot 1000's of rounds at a time in it. I have 22 short low velocity that I use in my HS pistol. I would like to hear what you think will be the better choice.

  I don't see any problem the model 74 was made after to old loading of the first 22 short. now if it was something like the Colt lightning . I might want to shoot standard Velocity
