moving ammo etc

What restrictions/rules must be followed to move loaded ammunition, powder and primers interstate? This would be a personal move from current residence to new residence - some 900 miles and involving an overnight stay in Virginia. No firearms in this move - will do that separately.

  Since your not a common carrier and its your ammo probably none, just use common sense.

  I believe the cut off for unregulated transport of smokeless powder is 100 pounds, so if you are under that weight you should be fine so far as the feds are concerned. State fire marshals may have other ideas and have lower limits.
