  This is a WAG? Kind of looks like a cut down Spanish Mauser bayonet. The bottom portion of the cross guard should be enlarged. With a hole for the muzzle of the rifle.

  There were probably dozens of various country Mauser bayonets made on that pattern. Back in the 1970's you could buy them at thr Army Surplus store for $2.00 each. Now run around $40. I doubt the Quillion being cut off hurts value. Might even enhance it slightly by making handier.
