Winchester Model 12 Y series
Where all Y series made in New Haven, Conn.? What are the major differences between Pre-64 and Post-64?? Are the Pre-64's that much better for the $$$ ? Thanks

The "Y" series were made by Miroku in Japan.
In regards to the original Model 12, they were all pre-64.
The correct terminology is "pre-64" and "post-1963". By stating "pre-64" or "post-64", you are omitting the year 1964.
Edit: I got the "Y" series confused with the later reproduction Model 12s.0 -
just to note, the Japan m-12's have a 'disconnect' also, no holding the trigger back while pumping. see the movie 'the wild bunch' for proper m-12 operation [;)] 0 -
Bert: I have looked on the auction side and the barrels are stamped "made in New Haven Conn." Could you elaborate?? 0 -
The "reissues" of the 1990s were made in Japan.
The Y guns of the 1970s were still made in house. Collectors trying to blow up the resale value of their older guns looked down their noses at the Y models, but the one I had was as good a shooter as any.0
