Would such a rifle have Winchester 70A marked on the barrel?

Not necessarily, I purchased a 70A new many years ago, the barrel was marked Model 70,
but I don't know if any were marked 70A

As only the stock & magazine parts differed, it would make no sense for Winchester to mark the barrels anything other than ?Model 70". All the ones I sold (back when) were so marked.

How do you tell a 70 from a 70A if they are both marked 70?

the 70a has a blind magazine, no opening floor plate . no checkering and plainer wood
