IF truly 100% as new condition, then I would expect $1500 plus.

PS - it's not "unfired". It was proof fired, function fired and sighted in at the factory.

The point that was being made, is that there is no such thing as an "unfired". All Winchester rifles were fired at least 8-10 times at the factory. Whether or not the original (or subsequent) owners fires it is a moot point, and it has no bearing on the value.

In that condition the original box will add greatly to the price.

How much do you think the box will add ? I have one from 1950 NIB.

I also found that a pre war adds 40 % premium

Looks to me like a total refinish, not original .. look at the wood , still a real nice little 22

Pathfinder, sorry to say that looks reblued to me. Barrel has too much gloss, and the screw that retains the slide mortise cover looks to have had the edge of the head chipped out and reblued. Wood doesn't look crisp, has oil staining near receiver.....

Based on those pics there is no way I would be calling it "unfired", or even "new" condition. Can you post a close up pic of the proof mark on the barrel and receiver?

I believe the guys are right, it has been completely refinished. And, the work was not done by a professional restoration company like Doug Turnbull. For what it's worth, my SWAG is that it would sell in the $300-400 range.

So lets see the seller is a very old man who bought this rifle 72 years ago and never shot it and then by mistake gave you a completely different rifle to take pictures of. to show us . Make sure you get the other CORRECT rifle when you buy one.
