k22 hand spring
Have an early k22 the hand torsion spring was gone have a new one ? Does not have the hole they talk about to put the long end in ? No books have a good picture. The pistol has British proof marks. Made around 1941. Any help how this spring is to be installed ? Thanks.

The "long end in hole" applies to the new MIM Smiths, if I'm following your description right. Hand springs on the older Smiths are anchored by putting the loop through a horizontal pin on the trigger, setting the long end above another horizontal pin inside the trigger, then creating tension lifting the short end against a short pin on the inside of the hand itself.
Numrich Arms has a good schematic showing the orientation - picture helps quite a bit.0
