    kimberkid,

That hex screw in the end, holds them together. You can take them apart for cleaning. The trick, if it is one, is getting them back together with the right spring tension. Once you have done a couple of them, it becomes simple, like taking the Ruger MK II, 22 pistol down for cleaning...once you have done a few of them, they are second nature, but a PITA at first.

So, if you are going to just pitch them, you might as well give the cleaning a spin first, and enjoy yourself, while doing so.

    Thanks guys ...

Had I even given it half a thought, I would have known that something designed 50 years ago would have been designed to be cleaned and or repaired ... not thrown away.

The video helped in that I knew what to expect when taking it apart and getting it back together ... I think I could have managed anyway but not nearly as quickly!

    Thanks again!
