Western Field Model 40 Who made it
Got a Western Field Model 40 in yesterday, no other markings. In 16 GA.
It's a Semi Auto 16 GA with the Classic Browning Hump. All steel.
I'd swear it was a Browning A-5 but the never made contract guns? Either that or a Remington M-11 this one has no fiber cushion
Trying to figure out who made it. Not listed on Any cross Reference
Need a few parts and want to make sure I get the right ones. Need stock and safety sear (16 GA..
thanks Dave

Being 16 gauge would narrow it down substantially, IMHO.
I doubt that either Remington or Browning would be making 16 gauge store brand guns for Monkey Ward. MY WAG is that it is a Savage 720.

Numrich cross-references the Western Field Model 40 as the Marlin Model 101 (a .22 single-shot).

Rufe-Snow
Stevens Model 720 that'd identical to the one I've got.
