What would be the correct style of front sight hood for a 1942 DOM carbine? I've seen too many variances on the net, and frankly, I'm a bit confused.......

  You need the hood with the top front and back edge curved. If you come across a hood with the back edge squared and the front edge rounded, than it is a reproduction.
  
  I'm not sure if someone is making repo curved edge hoods, but generally the seller would state that it is an original hood.

  The ones at gun-parts listed above do not appear to be correct. They are the repo style. As stated above both ends need to be rounded. Look at:

  I do not find any more for sale not that are correct. I may have one if you cannot find one else where. good Luck, Don
