Have a stripped bolt. How do I tell if it is a Type 38(6.5) or Type 99(7.7)?

The 'no-hassle' quick check is that on the 7.7 bolts the slot for ejector clearance is cut all the way through the left/upper locking lug and the small secondary lug behind it. As the fine photo the other guy posted clearly shows, that's not the case for the 6.5 bolt. Reason for the difference is the 6.5 design activated the ejector by camming it out with the smaller lug. The 7.7 just uses the spring action from the ejector housing spring like the 98 Mauser. 0
