Help with ID'ing a friend's dbl barrel pistol
A friend brought this double barrel pistol to me to assist him with an identification and approximate value. There are very few proofs or other identifying marks. Here's a few pics:

It appears it's a .32 caliber smoothbore.

Double hammers and double triggers

5 1/4" barrels

Nickel or chrome finish and what appear to be wood handles

And the only marking other than caliber I can find

Any help will be appreciated. I'm assuming it's extremely rare and valued in the tens of thousands, so please help me out here. [:D]

Belgian inspection mark and "perron" proof mark, and a style that was common in South America. Value = not much. 0 -
My guess is it's in 32 Short Colt. 0 -
It's a Garrucha pistol. Made in Belgium, as HRF has noted. Brazil is where they are most common. Rossi the Brazilian gun manufacturer made them up until recent times. In fact they actually exported and sold them to the States. Until the 1968 gun control law, came into effect.
The one pictured is much larger and more ornate, than the ones Rossi made.0 -

I don't know if it's the same one you're referring to? But I saw photos of one recently. Didn't think it was on the level. Figured it was movie prop, made for Arnold for his next flic.0 -
Thanks guys. I Googled "garrucha pistol" and had WAAAAYYYY more info than I needed. I'll have to tell my friend not to count on selling this to fund his retirement.

Not to be a wet blanket here Yooper, but if that is a smoothbore, AND the barrels are not 18" long, it is a Class III firearm- an AOW. Unless it is papered with the ATF, or one of a VERY few firearms that the ATF removed from the National Firearms Act, possessing that is the same as possessing an unregistered machinegun.
Assuming it is in the US, and not still in Brazil........0 -
Thanks for the heads-up. I'll mention it to my Brazilian friend - or is he from Argentina? Or maybe Chile. Damn, it's tough getting old and having the mind go. Can't remember the details. But anyway, I'll mention it to him.
