Post-64 Winchester 70 Stock
I have a Winchester model 70 in .225 Winchester. (I would say post-64 .225 but i guess that would be redundant because i believe there are no pre-64 model 70s in .225). I love the gun except for the stock. Those post-64 stocks were ugly. Does anyone have any experience with restocking post-64 model 70s to the pre-64 style? I assume a pre-64 stock would not fit a post-64 barreled action? Does anyone know of a gunsmith who does this type of thing? Thank you!

I think if you look at some of the aftermarket stock websites you will find several variations on stock styles available for the Post-'64 barreled actions. Slight deviation in fit can be handled by advanced (careful) amateurs or a good gunsmith with stocking experience. You can have your choice of wood, laminate or synthetic also.

Check this one out, it should come pretty close to dropping right in.
