winchester 54 barreled action

hello, will a winchester 54 barreled action fit a pre 64 model 70 stock or does it specifically have to be a model 54 stock, thanks

The upper part of the action fits with the exception that the rear tang is same as the pre-war 70s; the screw hole into the receiver ring is not in the flat as on a 70 but into the recoil lug, and the trigger guard goes farther toward the muzzle, so needs a little inletting; but other than that they are pretty close fit.

The first three are the pics that wouldn't open, of the M54 with the adapted M70 stock. the four that follow are of a Pre-war M70 stock that could be adapted to a M54 by removing a little wood for the longer floorplate and drilling a hole for the different screw location.
