Weatherby never made any o/u shotguns, they just sold other makers guns with thier name on them. 0 -
For many years Weatherby had SKS of Japan make shot guns for them, they dumped them several years ago and went to Fausti of Italy for their doubles and some place in Turkey for the pumps and semis.
The older Weatherby Weatherby, SKS, guns In my opinion were some of the best guns for the money the Fausti are not anything I would want0 -
I think you mean SKB of Japan..... SKS??? 0 -
I am sure he means SKB.

From what I understand Weatherby was close to 80% of SKBs business
Weatherbys termination of their longstanding business agreement
caught SKB short and they could not keep in business.
I have 5 Weatherby SKB shotguns I have gathered over the last 20 years
and have not had any problems
I think it was a bean counter decision they got them cheaper from Fausti0 -
They dropped SKB, and went to Fausti for a better made shotgun at a better price. 0 -
I believe that the SKB action is a greener box lock style action and is one of the strongest out there. For some reason SKB has always had trouble staying in business, whether they were making shotguns with their name or someone else's on it. IMO they are great guns and point well for me. I personally don't buy them any more since they are hard to get rid of and don't hold their value very well. And with the amount of shotguns that I go thru I'd end up with a bunch of great guns that would be hard to give away.
