The real differences between AR Uppers.
I am trying to make the right decision on a pair of uppers. I keep looking a DPMS, Del Ton, Spike's and Palmetto State Armory. I'm looking at the lower priced uppers as I wont be shooting matches or anything like that. If it shoots angle of coyote and doesn't jam it will be plenty good enough for me. Each of the above have Forum members that are very pleased with those company uppers. I would think there has to be some quality differences. If not than simply selecting the lowest price seems to be the best decision.
So again, is there really any differences in the above companies uppers??

dreher,
It might, at this present time boil down to, what is available...I know there are still back logs.
Don't over look Rock River, as they do a great Job. I have one of their predator uppers, as well as a 16inch varmint upper...both will do well under 1MOA, and with some ammunition, closer to 1/2 MOA. Pay attention to the twist rate, and then find what ammunition you can to shoot thru it. The 1 in 12's, will like 35-60 grain loads, the 1 in 8 or 9 will like 55-75 grain loads, and the 1 in 7 likes 69-80 grain the best...from experience...yes you can over stabilize a projectile...or if it has a thin jacket, make it disintegrate when it leaves the muzzle.

I think all those mentioned brands are about equal enough. I would find the options you want at the best price and enjoy.0 -
I've assemble, handled, and/or shot several brands and can honestly say that DelTon has been far above average as far as accuracy and function.
Even the budget priced M-4gery uppers have turned in sub MOA with decent ammo and optics.
Recently, I've laid in a few PSA uppers due to their very attractive sale pricing. These are waiting for breakin and accuracy testing for comparison but at those prices, as long as the bullets exit in the right direction, they're acceptable.0
