Only thing I could find, is that the Super X Model 1. Was produced between 1974 and 1981.

Thanks, Rufe. I was also wondering about the "Made in New Haven, CT" markings. I had the impression that the M in the serial number stands for Miroku, Japan.

    Serial number M72xxx

Due to U.S. customs law. Dating from the 1890's. If it was made in Japan. It had to be marked with it's country of origin, i.e. Japan.
