Perazzi MT6
Hello,
I recently purchased a Perazzi MT6 to re-sell only to find that one of the firing pins needs to be replaced.
While researching where to get it repaired I found that I can send the gun to Perazzi USA and they will totally "re-condition" the gun making it "good for another 30,000 rounds". The cost is about $400.
My question is this, do you experts think I will be able to get that $400 back out of the gun at re-sale, or should I just get the pin fixed and sell it as is?
Second question, I know what Blue Book has to say, but what is this gun likely to be worth in today's market? It has the original case, all chokes, choke key, key to the case, and paperwork. The gun itself (other than the broken pin) is 90-95%.
Thanks!

How much will it cost to replace the firing pin to flip the gun?
If the gun is not loose, the firing pin was likely broken by dryfiring, that is not good practice with a Perazzi.
If that is the case, I can't see where it is due an overhaul.
It may have been an entry level gun, but I liked mine.
I am sorry I sold it, even though my shotgunning days are pretty occasional now.0 -
the MT6 was basically an entry level gun and not very popular. I would not throw money into a rebuild, you'll never get it back 0 -

From Perazzi it would be somewhere around $125. I'm going to check with a local gunsmith first though.
No, the gun isn't loose so it probably was a dry fire incident.
Thanks for the info!0 -

Send it to Perazzi USA for the rebuild, it will make the gun easier to sell as it was recently serviced by the masters, that will keep the buyer from having any concerns from having any work done in the future and due to that you can transfer a portion of that cost on at sale. Similar to buying a used car vs a certified used car, you will pay more for the certified car as you know that it is perfect. 0 -
