    not being able to see the inside of the barrel it 'looks like' it was edm'ed. not bad for the current bid.

    I question that "porting" job. That long of a port surely interrupts
    the rifling in a NON-systematical manner. Note that the muzzle is back bored. I think it won't hold groups as well as a stock barrel.
    Too much $$$ unless you could shoot/see it fire a group.

    I too, was concerned about the barrel; while the seller doesn't specifically mention that this IS an after-market barrel(or at least a factory barrel which has been worked on), I believe it is. That -to me- is troubling because, assuming it IS a custom barrel, why wouldn't the seller say so??
    Babun, I also wonder what effect the porting job may have on accuracy........

    Hey, NO FAIR confusing me with facts!
    I had myself completely talked out of bidding on that rifle, but now..........??
    I swear, I have no idea WHERE those pics showing that the barrel is an original Remington came from!
