as you can see the front holes are actually drilled into the barrel, and not the receiver. 0 -
as the 'ears' have been ground off you have a 'one of'. probably a custom mount. I'd just ignore the existing hold and start over with a 'grind to fit' redfield type 0 -
Those are holes for the oldest type of Weaver mount, pre-WWII. They were available ONLY for scopes with 3/4" diameter tubes, such as Weaver made then. Because of their design, they CANNOT be adapted to larger diameter tube scopes, as the rings are not separate from the bases.
I have some of these mounts, if you want to give them a try, but don't think I have a proper spare scope (Weaver Model 330 or 440.)0 -
richarda i would maybe like to try that mount. would it be too much trouble for you to send me a pic of one? how much would you be asking for the mount? thanks

Let me see if I have a pair that should fit the rifle you have pictured; won't need much for them. 0 -

Thanks litetrigger. But I was hoping to find the mount to fit existing holes that are drilled. Also does that mount require ears to still be on receiver? 0
