1886 Winchester Screw Advice Needed
I have an 1886 Winchester 40-82 rifle. It is in good shape, lever action cycles just fine, but it is missing one part. This is a screw just above where you load the cartridges and towards the barrel end of the receiver.
What is this part called and what does it do, as the action seems to work just fine? And do you know where I can get a replacement, preferably an original part?
Thank you.

Thanks I will contact him. From my old home State Idaho. Are his parts reproductions? I would be willing to get a reproduction but am curious first if there are any people out there with original parts. What is the function of this part? 0 -
The cartridge guide #20 is held in by the screw #22. The action will cycle with out the parts but will not actually work feeding ammo. 0
