luger ser# and bulldog ffl question
hi there, I have a manufacturing license to reweld aks so don't deal outside of my area much but came across a bringback luger that is mismatched.
totally rough piece but anyway..
wondering what part I go off for the serial number to sell it.
assuming the slide?
also a super old h & r bulldog I don't see any numbers on it.
haven't pulled the grips. 32 rimfire im guessing?
does this even need an ffl for transfer?
thank you

The legal serial number, as far as the feds are concerned. Is the one on the frame. Not the barrel, or anywhere else. As shown in this photo. The lower case letter. Is also part of the serial number, on German military Lugers.

Pistols did not HAVE to HAVE a serial before 1934 gun Control Act
long guns 19680 -
Are you sure of that Bulldog being a H&R????
Most were made by I. Johnson just before 1900.
If you post pics of both sides of it I can tell you what year and who made it. Some because they are later than 1899, need to go as a C&R gun, Older ones need no paper work as an antique.0 -
thanks for the replies fellas.
I appreciate the info, hate to commit any felonies
pretty sure it says h&r
ill grab a couple shots of it.0 -
