I like the Chinese Polytech Ak47 underfolders. For the money, I do not think you can beat a Chinese Norinco underfolder if you can find one that has not been butchered up, especially in the rear tang area. They are several $100's less than the Polytechs. This is just my biased opinion of course. [:D] 0 -
You might consider if possible. Test firing the underfolder or any other folding stock AK, you're considering buying. They look really tacticool, with the folding stock. But when you firing them, with your face trying to get a cheek weld on that steel strut of the stock. You will wish it had a conventional wooden or plastic stock. IMHO. 0 -
dmitriyv, Years ago I read that the difference between Polytech and Norinco was the fellow picking up the receiver and saying 'mark this one Polytech.' The Polys are no better until resale. And rufe-snow is right. 0 -
They are so many people making aks I can only go by what I know I bought a yugo under folder from a company called Waco here on GunBroker and it was put together pretty nice I liked it so much I bought a left side folder from them krebscustoms is another I bought from but you better be prepared to spent some money ,fireinglinee is another good one but you may wanna stay with the norinco feg out of Hungary also made good under folders I have one of these also but these are. The pre Clinton days but you can find good examples of these rifles kvar has some nice examples I had a milled receiver under folder come in from them but you better be prepared to dig deep 0 -

"Best" in what way? "Best" is probably a custom build to your specs, but that's up to you.
To divert the question a bit, in my opinion none of the AK pistols are worth much except for "ha-has" at the range. These guns are bulky, poorly balanced, super loud, offer significant recoil, and typically have poor sights and mediocre triggers. The combination makes them hard to conceal (compared to conventional pistols) and hard to shoot accurately. In almost every situation you'd be better off either with a normal handgun or a conventional AK-pattern rifle.
Throw a folding stock onto one of these AK pistols and now you might have something interesting akin to an AK submachine gun, but doing that makes these NFA guns, requiring federal paperwork and fees.
In terms of underfolders, again, IMO, I've never seen an underfold design that was actually comfortable to shoot. These are a little lighter and more compact than side-folding stocks, so if concealment/storage is top priority then there may be an advantage there. But IMO if this is a gun you actually want to shoot (let alone shoot in a life-or-death situation), the side folders are much better.0 -

Buy the Yugo PAP M92 pistol and then you can buy the "stabilizing brace" made by Century. One could possibly shoulder fire it? Although not recommended. Not too sure. 0 -

Don't think you can shoot one of these from the shoulder, at least not comfortably. If you could, the whole thing would be illegal. IMO these arm brace things are a solution to a non-existent problem. A rifle isn't a handgun, and a handgun isn't a rifle.
The stabilizing brace things have several issues, not least of which is that they're not quick to put on or take off, and may pose problems if you're wearing (say) a winter jacket. They're also not particularly compact.
As basis for comparison, overall length of one of these AK pistols with the "stabilizing brace" is 20".
Overall length of a conventional AK with folding stock is 26" FOLDED.
With the right folding stock (ie most of them) you can even fire the full AK rifle folded if you like, though I'll tell you from experience, doing so one handed is virtually impossible because of the extreme forward weight of the thing. You can do it one handed if you have the thing hung over your shoulder from a sling, though.
On the other hand, flipping open a side-folding stock takes less than a second, and its both easier and FAR faster than trying to slip the entire gun over your forearm with your weak hand then tighten down the strap like with that silly "Stabilizing brace".
So for another 6" OAL, you get a functional stock, longer sight radius, better bullet velocity, lower noise/muzzle blast, and lower recoil. Again, IMO, for most conceivable applications, I think you're better off with a good AK rifle or a conventional pistol.0 -

I bet that arm brace is more comfortable to shoot than the ranch hand:
It's currently legal per the ATF. I'm sure the ATF is well aware of how it will be used.
As far as best AK pistol - jump on the Yugo M92.
Best deal out there in a completely foreign made AK.
Pistols do not require 922R.
You can try out all your foreign made fire control groups in them. I bet you'll find that the Tapco G2 FCG beats all of them.0
