Shipping AP rounds to Calfornia

Is it illegal to ship AP rounds to Calfornia
I know they have strange laws there just woundering if they can even own the AP rounds in that state

    No problems owning rifle AP and shipping it is fine to any area in CA which allows ammo to be shipped.

    Nit picking to be sure, but CA does not "allow" ammo to be shipped. They can only allow residents to possess. Or prohibit them from possessing.

    I ship ammo all of the time out of Califorina and as far as I know its still coming into the state from internet sales.

    Incorrect....... Roughly 5% of cal does not allow ammo to be shipped, a couple counties and a couple cities. The remainder of Calif is just fine to ship to. I get ammo frequently shipped to my home here.

    Do you mean shipped in, or shipped out? I do not live in CA and am not bound by any of their stupid rules. I can package up some ammo and ship it to CA. I recently sent some to my brother.

    It seems pretty clear that the OP is talking about possible issues involved in shipping AP in to CA and not shipping it out of the state. While there are restrictions on tracer and incendiary ammunition, there are no restrictions on AP rifle ammunition. There are local laws in some areas of CA which prohibit shipping ammunition and that means shipping it in and not sending it out.

    Lets not over complicate this.

    Well, maybe we need to overcomplicate this.

    It's not clear that the OP knows the difference between rifle & pistol AP, or between 7.62mm NATO AP & US .30-06 M2AP, or between 9mm Pistolenpatronen 08 m.E & ....... whatever. Or, that he knows where (city/county) he will ship the ammo. Or, what carrier he will use.

    Until we have more information from the OP, my response is, "It depends."
