based on the pictures, I am going to say not a pigeon grade, should have a " silver" receiver with an engraved pigeon bottom of receiver and say pigeon grade on top of barrel. Does it have a Winchester Butt pad?

I'm not sure if it's Winchester or not. It doesn't have any markings on it.

    Thanks.

    No markings? How strange.
With the Monte Carlo stock and low vent rib, it looks like an older trap gun.

How did the foreend come to get broken?

No,it is definitely not a pigeon grade. I should have an engraved silver receiver, dual beads, and dual vented barrels. It would have "Pigeongrade" engraved on the barrel and the hardware on the forearm should be silver. The stock above the trigger and behind the receiver should checkered.

Here is a picture of a pigeongrade receiver:

EDIT As a side note, the 101's were also brought in under the Classic Double name....If you do a search for Double Eagle Trading in Nevada, he specializes in Winchester 101's and their clones. He may also have a replacement forearm...

Winchester 101's were made in Japan. They were also sold in the u.s. As Nikko shotguns. If it is not marked as a Winchester 101 it is most likely made in the same factory and sold as a Nikko.

If it doesn't have a "Country of Origin" marking. It was never sold threw commercial sale, in the U.S. As that is one of the requirements for all commercial products that are imported for sale here.

It could have been imported as personal property by a G.I., that was stationed overseas though.

There is a shotgun collectors site, called "Shotgun World". Post your photos over there Henry. Somebody might know what it is.
