You will need to post photos, including close-ups. We need to see the serial number on the bottom of the grip, & the area where the 10-5 is.

I do not have possession of the gun in question. I am asking for this information for a friend that lives in another state.

Try searching the auction side for something close to watch

You can log in and do a search for completed auctions to see what they actually sell for

Most important factors in valuing a nickel plated Smith. Would be, #1, Is the plating is factory original. #2, Cosmetics, i.e. Handguns that have lost a substantial amount plating, look like poop. Turn folks off. Not easy to sell for decent money, because of nickel loss.

Please estimate value of a 38 Special, Model 10-5, Serial # 451433, 6" Nickel. Condition is 90% plus.
    Thank you for your time.

Hard to give a really good estimate based solely on that, but speaking in general, factory nickel adds value, refinish nickel does not. 6" bbl guns are a little scarcer and this adds a bit of value over 4" ones. Lack of factory grips may reduce value. . .depends what they are. Nice wood factory grips may add a bit of value. Factory box may add a bit

So I'd say if this is a factory nickel gun, its otherwise nice looking, but just has a few wear areas, you're looking at a $350-400 gun.
