"Baretta" (with an "a") was a television program from the late 1970s about an undercover NY cop, played by actor Robert Blake (known more recently for his criminal indictment and subsequent acquittal for the murder of his second wife). The Chevy Beretta (same spelling as the gunmaker) was a variable quality front wheel drive coupe from the mid 1980s-90s. Sales were weak, the car didn't have a real "niche" (who wants a FWD sports coupe?) and Chevy eventually dropped it. A friend of mine had one of these. . .the coolest thing about the car was the name!

None of this answers the question.

On the Beretta Pico GUN, not only have I not tried one, I'm pretty sure they're not yet available for sale.

If you like you can find third party reviews on Google and YouTube and such by a few individuals who have tried demos. Obviously you have to take reviews by gun publications (which sell ad space) with a grain of salt, but usually you can read between the lines and get a sense of plusses and minuses.

This is a good overview from the maker: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Al8CeAWXRuc#t=84

Just having looked at the gun, I'll say its definitely done a few things right. Just the fact that it has real sights makes it a pretty strong contender in my book if you're after one of these things (eg sights on the Kel Tec are lousy). The light slide pull is another significant advantage over other .380s (most of which are pretty tough to rack). The fact that it comes with an extended fingergrip mag is a nice touch (though you can usually get one for any of these guns as an aftermarket accessory if you want it).

IMO, the ability to change calibers isn't a selling point. If I wanted a .32 (which I emphatically don't), why would I buy a .380? Ability to change gun configuration around the chassis is a little more interesting, but realistically also probably not that useful. I'm not going to change gun colors to match my socks! If the gun doesn't fit my hand I probably won't buy it at all, rather than mess around with different external configurations. Ability to take a laser chassis is nice, but again, laser accessories are available aftermarket for most of the other .380s, so its not necessarily a big advantage.
